We are currently hiring for the following opportunities:
Medical Biller/Coder
Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all charges to patient accounts through the use of a charge work queue, internal charge slips. This individual is also responsible for coding, code verification, and claim submission. Responsible for accurate and timely processing of all payments and payment adjustments to patient accounts through paper checks, currency, and electronic payment methods. Electronic submission of insurance claims to clearinghouse. Answering patient billing questions over the phone and in person. Working with patients, staff, and insurance companies on coding and billing-related questions requires excellent communication and research skills.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Industry-related degree or certificate preferred
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10
- Previous EPIC experience a plus
- Understanding and importance of HIPAA and compliance
- Proficient and accurate 10-key, typing, and math skills
- Knowledge of insurance terminology and local carrier a plus
Hours
- Monday – Friday, occasional weekends to support department or attend staff functions
- 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

Technician
This individual is responsible for performing an extensive number of data collection functions as delegated by the physicians to allow for proper professional diagnosis of patients and to do so in a way that instills patient confidence in the treatment. Demonstrate ophthalmic technician skills.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous medical assisting experience helpful, but not required. Prior in-office experience in another department helpful.
- Ability to perform refractions or will be able to perform within first year of employment
- OSC certified or certified within first year of employment
- Previous EPIC experience preferred
- COA certification preferred. Uncertified techs have the opportunity to become certified after one year experience working with an ophthalmologist.
Hours
- Monday – Friday
- Flexible 6:30 am – 7:00 pm
- Travel as needed
- Alternate Saturday morning clinics with other team members
- Staff retreats and employee improvement/education functions as required
