Myopia Management

Myopia, or nearsightedness, is a refractive error that occurs when the cornea curvature is too steep, which causes the eye to focus images in front of the retina and results in blurry distance vision. Myopia is commonly diagnosed in childhood and can worsen over time, increasing the risk of more severe sight conditions later in life.

Valley Eye Associates is here to help and we’re excited to offer CooperVision’s innovative new MiSight contact lenses as part of their Brilliant Futures Myopia Management Program. These kid-friendly, disposable contact lenses not only correct myopia, they are also the first and only FDA-approved treatment to slow the progression of nearsightedness in children aged 8-12.

Dr. Angela Rodriguez, Dr. Mindy Harrington, Dr. Parisa Sobhi, and Dr. Garry Brown are certified to fit these special lenses at our Appleton West, Appleton EastOshkosh, and Encircle Health locations.
