At Valley Eye Associates, we are proud to offer the Implantable Contact Lens (ICL) procedure that can help more patients reduce or eliminate their dependence on glasses and contact lenses. ICLs are an ideal option for patients who may not qualify or desire LASIK and they provide a wide variety of prescription options for you and your doctor to consider.
ICL is an FDA-approved outpatient procedure designed for extreme myopia (nearsightedness). During the ICL procedure, a tiny lens is placed onto your iris (the structure of the eye that gives it its color) to help your eye focus more clearly at a distance. This is a great treatment option for patients who suffer from nearsightedness (myopia) and want to see things in the distance more clearly without glasses or contacts.
Recovery after an ICL procedure is very quick, with most patients returning to their daily activities two to three days afterwards.
